Monsoon - A short story

The ‘Wait’ was finally over. The long and eagerly awaited monsoon finally arrived in Style. Its first brisk showers quenched the Earth’s thirst.

With the first showers early in the night the entire atmosphere changed from hot and dull into drenched and contented. The first droplets of water indicated a flurry of rains to follow.

Then they came, harsh and heavy, saturating every available exposed surface. The dusty roads turned into passageways for small tributaries of water while dry grounds transformed into pools of water.

After a while, the rains seemed to lose their fervor. But the dark clouds above signified the heavy downpour to be followed in the future.

Happy as they were, some creatures put on wings on their backs for just this one day and flew out of their hideouts to explore and craft new homes and territories for themselves. Let’s just Hope, at least some of them were successful. Let these pictures inspire us to shed our own drawbacks and shortcomings and explore new frontiers in our future by putting on wings of hope on our backs.
